It's that time of the year again. Many of you are going to be getting fake tax refund checks in the mail from dealers. These checks will make it seem like you are going to be getting that much more off of the car you intend to buy. Don't buy it. Literally.
Of course since the dealer's advertising agency sent you the letter, the dealer knows who you are. It's simple for him to know that he simply has to make a bump to his offered price as soon as he sees you come in the door so he can later show you the discount of the value of the check.
Remember what I always say, we dealers all buy the cars from the factory for the same price. Shop the dealers you like and compare price, trade-in allowance and financing as a package. Only then can you tell if you are getting a good deal.
